Russell Ellwanger
Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Ellwanger was appointed Chief Executive Officer in May 2005. Previously, from 1998 to 2005, he served in various executive positions for Applied Materials Corporation, including Group Vice President, General Manager of the Applied Global Services (AGS) division from 2004 to 2005, and Group Vice President, General Manager of the CMP and Electroplating Business Group from 2002 to 2004.
Mr. Ellwanger also served as Corporate Vice President, General Manager of the Metrology and Inspection Business Group from 2000 to 2002, during which he was based in Israel. From 1998 to 2000, he served as Vice President of Applied Materials 300-mm Program Office, USA.
Mr. Ellwanger also served as General Manager of Applied Materials Metal CVD Division from 1997 to 1998 and from 1996 to 1997, he served as Managing Director of CVD Business Development, during which he was based in Singapore. In addition, Mr. Ellwanger held various managerial positions at Novellus Systems, Inc. from 1992 to 1996 and at Philips Semiconductors from 1980 to 1992.
Dr. Itzhak Edrei
President
Dr. Itzhak Edrei was appointed President in November 2011. He previously served as an Executive Vice President of Tower Business Units and Business Development since 2008, and as Senior Vice President of Product Lines and Worldwide Sales since August 2005. In 1996, Dr. Edrei established the Research and Development Group at Tower. He was the Director of R&D and later Vice President of R&D from August 2001. From 1994 to 1996, Dr. Edrei served as Tower’s Device and Yield Department Manager.
Prior to joining Tower, he was employed by National Semiconductor as Device and Yield Section Head.
Dr. Edrei received his Ph.D. in Physics and his B.Sc. in Computer Science and Physics from Bar Ilan University in Israel in 1988 and 1983 respectively. From 1988-1990, he did his Post Doctorate at Rutgers University, NJ.
Ephie Koltin
Executive Vice President of Worldwide Operations
Mr. Koltin was appointed Executive Vice President of Worldwide Operations in November 2011. He previously served as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Operations since 2009, Fab 1 Manager since April 2007, and Vice President of Business Development since August 2005. He also served as Vice President, General Foundry and Mixed Signal Technology since 2003 and as Senior Director, FAB2 Process Engineering since 2000. From 1996–1999, Mr. Koltin served in several senior positions as Director, NVM Technology, CIS Technology and ERS Manager, Fab 1.
Prior to joining Tower, he was employed at National Semiconductor and the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.
Mr. Koltin holds a M.Sc. in Materials Engineering and a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.
Oren Shirazi
Chief Financial Officer
Senior Vice President of Finance
Mr. Shirazi was appointed Chief Financial Officer in November 2004, after serving as Controller since July 2000. He joined Tower in October 1998 serving as Vice Controller. Previously, he was employed as an Audit Manager in the accounting firm of Ratzkovski-Fried & Co., which merged into Ernst & Young (Israel), commencing August 1995.
Mr. Shirazi is a Certified Public Accountant in Israel (CPA), and has an MBA in Business Management from the Graduate School of Business at Haifa University with honors and a B.A. in Economics and Accounting from Haifa University.
Dalit Dahan
Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Information Technology
Ms. Dahan was appointed Senior Vice President of Human Resources in April 2004, and IT Manager in January of 1998. She served as Director of Personnel, Recreation & Compensation from 1998 through 2004 and as Compensation and Benefits Manager from 1993 to 2004.
Previously, she was employed by ORS, a manpower company as the manager of the companys northern branch responsible for all recruitment activities and the daily personnel and compensation activities of approximately 150 employees.
Ms. Dahan holds an MBA from the University of Derby and a B.A. in Social Science from Haifa University.
Nati Somekh
Senior Vice President
Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary
Nati Somekh was appointed Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary in September 2008, having served as Corporate Secretary and General Counsel since March 2005, and as Associate General Counsel since May 2004.
From 2001-2004, she was employed by Goldsobel & Kirshen, Adv., specializing in the areas of intellectual property, biotechnology and corporate law.
Ms. Somekh holds an LL.M and J.D. from Boston University and a B.A. from Johns Hopkins University. She is a member of the Israeli Bar Association and the New York Bar.
Yossi Netzer
Vice President of Corporate Planning
Yossi Netzer was appointed Vice President of Corporate Planning in November 2008, after serving as General Manager of Mixed Signal, RF & Power Management Product Line since 2005 and as Director, FAB 2 Yield & Device Engineering Manager since 2000. From 1995 to 2000, Mr. Netzer served in various engineering management positions within the R&D division dealing with CMOS, Mixed Signal, RF, and NVM Technologies.
Prior to joining Tower, Mr. Netzer was employed at National Semiconductor and the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.
Mr. Netzer holds a B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.
Rafi Mor
TowerJazz Japan, Ltd. Representative Director & CEO
Mr. Mor was appointed TowerJazz Japan, Ltd. Representative Director and CEO of TowerJazz Japan in January 2013 after serving as CEO of TowerJazz Japan from October 2012. Prior he served as Senior Vice President and General Manager at Newport Beach from September 2008. In April 2007, he was Vice President of Business Development for Tower Semiconductor. Previously, he served as Towers Vice President and Fab 2 Manager since August 2005, and as Fab 1 Manager since March 2003. From November 2000 to March 2003, Mr. Mor served as Senior Director of Process Device & Yield of Fab 1. From 1998 to 2000, he served as Director of Equipment Reliability & Support of Fab 1.
Prior to this, he was employed by National Semiconductor in various engineering and management capacities.
Mr. Mor earned his M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from Ben Gurion University in Israel.
Dr. Marco Racanelli
Senior Vice President and General Manager of RF/High Performance Analog and Power Business Groups
General Manager of US Aerospace & Defense Business Group
Dr. Racanelli was appointed Senior Vice President & General Manager, RF & High Performance Analog Business Group and Aerospace & Defense Group in September 2008. Previously, he served as Vice President of Technology & Engineering, Aerospace & Defense General Manager for Jazz Semiconductor.
Prior to Jazz, Dr. Racanelli held several positions at Conexant Systems and Rockwell Semiconductor since 1996 in the area of technology development where he helped establish industry leadership in SiGe and BiCMOS and MEMS technology, and built a strong design support organization. Prior to Rockwell, Dr. Racanelli worked at Motorola, Inc., where he contributed to bipolar, SiGe and SOI development for its Semiconductor Products Sector.
Dr. Racanelli received a Ph.D. and a M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, and a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Lehigh University. He holds over 35 U.S. patents.
Dr. Avi Strum
Vice President and General Manager, CMOS Image Sensor Business Unit
Vice President of Sales for Europe
Dr. Strum was appointed VP of Sales for Europe in June 2012, in addition to his position as VP and GM of the CMOS Image Sensor Business Unit which he has held since 2005. Previously he was VP and GM of the Specialty Business Unit since September 2008. He joined Tower in 2004 and served as GM of Tower’s design center in Netanya and Device and Integration Department Manager. In 2005, he was appointed GM of the CMOS sensor and non-volatile memory (NVM) BU.
Prior to joining Tower, Dr. Strum served as the President and COO of TransChip Inc. and from 1996 to 2001, he served in various positions with Intel Corp., both in Israel and the US. From 1990 to 1996, he was the R&D Manager of SCD and was in charge of all the Infrared Detectors development in SCD.
Dr. Strum received his Ph.D. and B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology in 1990 and 1985 respectively.
Zmira Shternfeld-Lavie
Vice President of Process Engineering R&D
General Manager of Transfer, Optimization and Development Process Services Business Unit (TOPS™)
Ms. Lavie was appointed Vice President of Process Engineering R&D and General Manager of Transfer, Optimization and Development Process Services in 2007. She has over 20 years experience with Si processing technologies and management in fabrication as well as in the R&D arena. She joined the R&D Group as Thin Film Section Manager when it was established in 1996. In her current position, she is leading the R&D Process Group, MEMS and manages the process transfer activity with a target of establishing customer specific processes in Towers fabs.
Previously, Ms. Lavie served at National Semiconductor as Thin Film Process Engineer. She has expertise in thin films metallization and process integration and has several patents within this area.
Ms. Lavie received a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from Technion, Haifa.
Ilan Rabinovich
Vice President of Customer Support
and General Manager of CMOS Business Unit
Mr. Rabinovich was appointed Vice President, Customer Support and General Manager, CMOS Business Unit in December of 2009. Prior to joining TowerJazz, from 2005-2009, he served as Vice President of Operations, Opto Fab, Vishay Ltd. (formerly CyOptics Ltd.), a subsidiary of Vishay Intertechnology.
Previously, from 2000-2005, Mr. Rabinovich served as President and Vice President of Product Development at CyOptics Ltd. From 1995-2000, he worked as a Process Engineering Manager and Director of Engineering for Tower Semiconductor. From 1983-1995, he held various engineering and management positions in National Semiconductor Company and in Tower Semiconductor, Israel.
Mr. Rabinovich holds a M.Sc. in Physics from Tel Aviv University and a B.Sc. in Physics and Mathematics from Hebrew University, Jerusalem.
Ori Galzur
Vice President of VLSI Design Center and Design Enablement
Mr. Galzur was appointed vice president of TowerJazz VLSI design center on July 2007. He has 20 years of experience in chip design and PDK development. He joined the R&D group in 1997 as an analog designer and was part of the design center from day one. In his current position he is leading TowerJazz world class design enablement activities including: Design (analog and digital), design services, PDK and spice development, mask cad, and IP. He is also responsible for TowerJazz unique NVM solutions, including device R&D and design.
Mr. Galzur received a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Technion, Haifa.
Don Cerney
Vice President of Worldwide Quality and Reliability
Mr. Cerney was appointed Vice President of Worldwide Quality and Reliability in December 2008 and previously served as Director of Quality and Reliability for Jazz Semiconductor since 2002. He has held several key positions with Jazz and its predecessors, Conexant Systems and Rockwell International since 1979, such as Director of Process and Integration Engineering, Director of Process and Equipment Engineering, Manager of Process Engineering - Etch, and Manager of Process Engineering - Diffusion.
Mr. Cerney received an MBA from University of Phoenix and a B.Sc. with honors in Electrical Engineering from California State University, Long Beach. He is also a Six Sigma Black Belt.
Keiichi Kawabata
TowerJazz Japan, Ltd.
Representative Director & President
Head of Business Development/Sales
Mr. Kawabata was appointed Representative Director and President, Head of Business Development/Sales for TowerJazz Japan, Ltd. in January of 2013. Previously, he served as President at Novellus Japan from 2008, President at Miyoshi Kasei Inc. from 2006–2008, and Representative Director and COO at Avnet Japan from 2004–2006.
In 1984, after graduating from university, he joined Tokyo Electron Limited. During his 20-year career with the company, he served in various executive positions such as Vice President and Clean Track Business Unit Manager at Tokyo Electron America Inc., Vice President of Clean Track Business Unit and Vice President of Sales Promotion Group, among others.
Mr. Kawabata received a BA in Chemistry from Ehime University in Japan.
David Postula
Vice President of Sales for North America
David Postula was appointed Vice President of Sales for North America in April 2011. Previously, he held the position of Vice President of Sales for the USA Eastern region for TowerJazz.
Prior to joining TowerJazz, Mr. Postula served as Sales Director at Chartered Semiconductor from 2002 to 2006. Before entering the foundry segment, he held a variety of director level positions in sales and business development at several start-ups. He began his career with Mitsubishi Electronics as Marketing Manager for their SOC Division, holding positions both in Japan and in the US.
Mr. Postula holds a Bachelors Degree in Business from Cornell University. He has also completed an Asian Studies program at Kansai Gaidai University near Osaka, Japan, and has taken advanced business courses at Cornell University’s Johnson Graduate School of Management and at The University of Texas at Austin’s McCombs School of Business.
Dani Ashkenazi
Vice President of Sales EMEA, Japan, South America & India
Dani Ashkenazi was appointed Vice President of Sales in June 2008, after serving as General Manager of CMOS Product Line since 2005 and as Director of Customer Support, and Director of reliability since 2003. From 2000 to 2003 Mr. Ashkenazi served as Application Manager at our office in Santa Clara and prior to that Mr. Ashkenazi held engineering management positions within the process, test and product engineering.
Mr. Ashkenazi holds a M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Physics from the Hebrew University.
Todd Mahlen
Vice President of APAC Sales and Power Business Development
Mr. Mahlen was appointed Vice President of APAC Sales and Power Business Development in March 2010. Previously, he served as Director of Marketing for Specialty Business Unit and was brought into Jazz Semiconductor to establish a Power Technology business focus.
Prior to Jazz, Mr. Mahlen worked at Polarfab, Inc., where he was one of the founding members orchestrating the change from IDM to a Pure-play foundry in 2000. Prior to PolarFab, Mr. Mahlen contributed as an Application Engineering Manager/Engineer focused on the ICs for the Hard Disk Drive market primarily PreAmplifiers, Servo Demodulators and PRML channels since 1993.
